Give each page a clear job

Start with one genuine service and the customer question the page should answer. Use a descriptive title and heading, then explain what the service includes and who it suits.

Build a compact outline: an H1 naming the service; what is included and excluded; the real service area; how the work proceeds; answers to common customer questions; and a contact step. Use keyword research to choose the page’s focus, not to repeat a phrase in every heading.

Add useful local detail

Mention the actual areas you serve where it helps a customer make a decision. Explain availability, process, common constraints and how to request a quote. Avoid swapping place names into otherwise identical pages.

For example, a kitchen fitter might explain whether the business handles removal, installation and finishing, who arranges plumbing, and how site surveys work. Add original project evidence only when you have it and permission to use it. Create a separate area page only when it offers genuinely useful information beyond a changed town name.

Make the next step obvious

Test the phone, form or booking route on mobile. Show the next step near the service explanation and again where a reader finishes. Keep claims, examples and images accurate to your own business.

Connect and review

Link to the service page from relevant navigation and related pages. Check that the page can be found and read. Google’s SEO Starter Guide explains descriptive URLs, useful content and links in more detail.

Worked example: make the service page useful

For a kitchen installation page, lead with what the business actually does and where it works. Describe the typical process, what customers should prepare, examples of completed work if available, and a clear way to enquire. Avoid a long list of copied location names or claims about being “number one” without evidence.

Ask a colleague unfamiliar with the business to read the page on a phone. Can they tell whether you cover their area, whether you handle their type of project and what happens after they contact you? If they cannot, revise the page before adding more keywords. Google’s SEO Starter Guide emphasises useful content written for people.
